Doberman ResQ ADOPTED - Roxy

Red & Rust female

(10/12/08) Roxy: Pat & Dick adopted a sad rescue, Cody, 9 months ago and as the pictures of Cody going home with them shows, it was the best thing in his young life. Pat & Dick did wonderful things for Cody, continuing with his dips for mange, giving and getting unconditional love, giving Cody the kind of life he'd never before known. A few weeks ago, Cody began dripping blood and they immediately took him to the vet. While there, Cody urinated a stream of blood and the vet referred them to a specialist. The results from the ultrasound were devastating, Cody had the largest bladder tumor the specialist had ever seen. It was inoperable and the painful but humane decision was made to let Cody go peacefully. He passed quietly and quickly being held by the two people who loved him with all their hearts.

Pat & Dick called Angie to give her the sad news. While talking with her they heard of Roxy and decided to meet her. It was amazing. Roxy immediate took to Dick and firmly attached herself to him. She was her usual sweet self with everyone but kept coming back to Dick. Pat & Dick adopted her on the spot and she went home with them. We know everyone won in this situation. Here are a couple of snaps of Roxy going home with Pat, Dick and their daughter.

Original Posting:

(10/5/08) Roxy: A sweet 2½ year old cropped and docked female who is very affectionate and gets along with other dogs and kids. Her original owner was deployed to Iraq and the people who have her cannot give her the attention and exercise she needs. She's cratetrained, housetrained, knows some verbal and hand commands, walks pretty well on a leash and with just a little work will be wonderful. She loves her people, loves to play catch with her favorite toy, a football, and would absolutely be your best friend. She'd love to go on walks with you and loves to run.
