Doberman ResQ ADOPTED - Baron

Red & Rust male

(9/18/09) Baron (update): From Andrew "I just wanted to drop a line to you and the rest of the DobermanResQ folks about that sweet sweet Dobe that you brought into my life, Baron. Baron is doing wonderful now, his leg has healed remarkably and he now shows off at the local dog park with his friends he has made over the last year. I introduced him to his Doctor, Doc Hansche at ABC Veterinary Hospital in San Marcos, and immediately Doc was in love with him. Baron has such a sweet demeanor to himself and always is on his best behavior when we're out and about. He loves riding in the back seat of the truck with his head out the window. every time I go to the garage he wants to go for a ride! He does his fair share of barking at the fence in the backyard when there's someone walking by but I would expect him to protect his yard like most Dobes do. I wanted to send you some pictures of him in his latest venture. I even caught him one day completely passed out on the bed when I came back to the house one morning to pick up something I left behind. He's such a stinker! But I love him to death.

"I'd love to adopt another Dobe so Baron has a playmate, he loves to play at the park when I get home from work and he is running great on that new leg. Thank you for everything you do for these animals. we need more people like the Doberman ResQ in America. Andrew

"The pictures say it all, he's a couch potato haha."

(8/31/08) Baron: Andrew saw Baron on the web site not long after losing his beloved Red & Rust male. He also was interested Rocco and asked Angie if he could meet both, wanting to adopt one of them. Angie packed up Rocco and Baron, who was doing much better, rapidly recovering from his marjor surgery. When they arrived at Andrew's in Carlsbad she open the van doors and out shot Baron, going immediately to Andrew and putting his head under Andrew's hand. The rest, as they say, is history. Rocco, though wonderful in his own right didn't stand a chance. Baron and Andrew are getting along famously as these first home photos show. We think this is wonderful for both.

(8/16/08) Baron: Baron continues to improve everyday. He's getting around on three leg but from time to time puts weight on his repaired leg so it shouldn't be long now. The vet says about 2 more weeks. He should be able to get around well soon and he absolutely loves people. Checkout his video below from this weekend. He's a really special guy (and a good Dobe kisser too!).

(8/9/08) Baron: Baron's stitches came out and he's really doing great. He's now ready for a forever home and is anxious to give all his love to his new family. Everything should be perfect from now on especially his personality, he's a doll.

(7/25/08) Baron: Baron underwent his surgery to repair his hip and is doing wonderfully. Everything went as planned and, after about 3 weeks of absolute rest, he'll be ready for adoption and will live the rest of his life painfree. He's a terrific dog and now has a wonderful future. Here's a shot of Baron on his way back to Doberman Rescue after his surgery.

(7/5/08) Baron: A 4 to 5 year old red & rust neutered male with cropped ears and a docked tail. Good with well behaved dogs. Knows some obedience and is very people oriented. Baron has an old dislocated hip injury that, because of the length of time since it occurred, could not be repaired. He needs surgery to remove the head of the femur costing about $1,000. Fortunately this will result in a completely normal life style for Baron, free of pain. This happy go lucky guy has a bright future - all he needs is some help from his friends. Doberman Rescue will be paying for the surgery but as always, donations are welcome and appreciated.
